South America abounds with large quantities of important plants. Maytenus ilicifolia, an evergreen bush-like tree, is one of them. It grows in the forests and grasslands of Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. The Indians of the Guarani tribe were the first people to begin using this plant.
Dried and shredded stem/leaf of the espinheira santa plant (Maytenus ilicifolia)
Drop 3 teaspoons of Maytenus ilicifolia into ¾ litre of boiling water; boil for 3 minutes and strain. Divide ¾ litre of the infusion into 2-3 daily doses. After three weeks, interrupt the application for one week. Do not exceed recommended daily dose!
